Do you have questions?

As experienced Harrisburg wedding DJs, we’ve happily answered our share! To get you started, here are a few we frequently hear.

Read reviews and check out social media to get a feel for personality. Ask recently married couples about their experiences. Make sure the DJ fits your budget and is available. Then have a conversation to see if that DJ gets your wedding day vision.
A professional DJ understands a wedding reception includes a sequence of events that must be announced at the appropriate time. Along with informing your guests of what’s to come, your DJ also builds enthusiasm and energy with each dance, toast, and tradition.
Look to budget $1200 – $2500 for a 4-5 hour reception. DJ packages may also include lighting, a photo booth, and special effects. And experience makes a difference. Seasoned wedding and event DJs will charge more than a newcomer working on the weekends.

HD Entertainment has packages for any size wedding or event.

See our reviews on WeddingWire and  The Knot.

In addition to Harrisburg, HD Entertainment provides DJ services for weddings and events in Gettysburg, York, Lancaster, as well as other parts of South Central Pennsylvania.

Explore Harrisburg, The Keystone State Capital

While your wedding day is the main event, your guests will want to spend some of their free time exploring the history, culture, and attractions of Pennsylvania’s state capital. Here are some of the city’s highlights.

Home 231: Located just a couple of short blocks from the waterfront, this farm-to-table eatery uses fresh, local ingredients in its regional American dishes. Available for private events and off-premise catering.

Millworks: This award-winning restaurant supports local growers as well as artists. The menu showcases seasonal fare and ranges from small plates to full entrees. Dine in a historic, yet bohemian, atmosphere.

O’Reilly’s Tap Room & Kitchen: Located in The Central Hotel, this is a great spot for lunch or a gathering spot for guests. Here you’ll find fresh comfort food, Irish specialties, and one of the most extensive beer lists in the area.

Sawyers: During the summer months, folks party and dance under the stars at this outdoor bar. And there’s always some kind of themed event or entertainment.

HMAC – House of Music, Arts & Culture: This multi-venue arts and entertainment complex is located in Harrisburg’s historic Old Midtown district. With three distinct venues within the center, patrons can enjoy dining, entertainment, and the arts.

Harrisburg Improv Theater: If your guests need something to do on Friday evening while you’re rehearsing and dining, this local theater group is ever-spontaneous and hilarious. And you can BYOB.

Matangos Quality Candies: Since 1947, these delicious chocolates and candies have been a staple for locals. Family-owned and operated, the history of the shop – and its founder – is fascinating. Take home a piece of Harrisburg history.

Midtown Scholar Bookstore Cafe: Booklovers will definitely want to put this stop on the trip. This independent bookstore carries new, used, and rare editions, hosts author events, and provides a welcoming atmosphere for all.

The Meadow: Here you’ll find one-of-a-kind curated items from local artisans as well as vintage clothing and handmade housewares.

State Museum of Pennsylvania: Created in 1905, the museum offers both permanent and temporary exhibits that explore the rich history of The Keystone State.

Whitaker Center: This is where entertainment, education, and art merge. Catch a nature movie on the giant screen, perform science experiments, or enjoy a live show.

Pride of the Susquehanna Riverboat: Take in Harrisburg from the water with a 45-minute tour on an authentic paddle wheeler. Specialty cruises, including dinner at sunset, are also available.

Pennsylvania State Capitol: Take a tour of one of the country’s most beautiful statehouses. In fact, President Theodore Roosevelt said it was, “the handsomest building” he had ever seen. 30-minute guided tours are conducted on the half hour.

Take a bike ride: Susquecycle makes it easy to rent a bike to tour around the city. Pick up a bike at one location and drop it off at a station near your final destination.

Susquehanna Art Museum: Wedding guests can spend some time enjoying the works of regional as well as international artists. And can you find the “hidden” works of art in the Lobby Gallery?

Ice & Fire Festival: Held in March, this city-wide event features over 40 ice sculptures in downtown locations, including City Island, Midtown, Italian Lake and Reservoir Park.

Artfest: Each May, over 150 juried artists and artisans exhibit at Harrisburg’s Riverfront Park. You’ll also find live music and plenty to eat and drink.

Harrisburg Book Festival: Presented by the Midtown Scholar Bookstore, this October event features a huge tent sale and a full stable of award-winning authors. And if you’re traveling with kids, there’s a full range of children’s activities.
