Gettysburg Halloween Parade FAQ

When is the Gettysburg Halloween Parade? Route?
The parade will take place on Tuesday, October 19, 2021.
Rain date is Wednesday, October 20, 2021.
The Gettysburg Halloween Parade staging will take place in the parking lots of Lincoln Elementary and Gettysburg Middle School on Lefever St. The Parade route begins where Lefever meets Baltimore St., continues through Lincoln Square ontoYork St. and ends Liberty St. where participants will be directed to turn right onto Liberty, back onto Lefever St. and the staging area.

What time do festivities begin?
We suggest getting downtown to secure your spot to watch the parade by 5:45 p.m. as streets will be blocked off by Gettysburg Borough Police beginning at 6 p.m. HD Entertainment will host a Dance Party on the Square at 6 p.m. The parade will step off around 7:15 p.m.

How can I register to be in the parade or help sponsor?
Visit our Facebook page and see the pinned post for all registration and sponsorship forms. We are looking for food trucks, volunteers, sponsors, and parade registrants. Food trucks will need to secure a permit from The Borough of Gettysburg.

What time do I need to lineup for the parade?
Parade participants will be lined up on a rolling basis starting with Division 1 at 5:00 p.m. All parade participants need to be lined up by 6:00 p.m.

How can we feed our group in the staging area? Will there be access to bathrooms?
You can pre-order bagged dinners to be delivered to your right in the staging area by contacting Biggerstaff’s Catering, 717.334.3855. Dinners are $8 each. Once we assign divisions, we will share this information with Biggerstaff’s so they know where to find you. You can order before we assign divisions. Portapotties will be available in the staging area as well as a hand sanitizing station. *Please do not leave any trash in the staging area! A dumpster and trash bags will be provided. We do not want to wear out our welcome with The Gettysburg Area School District.

What are procedures will be in place surrounding Covid-19?
We will follow all current CDC and Commonwealth guidelines for Covid-19. Stay tuned to our social media channels as these guidelines can change rapidly.

What should we incorporate into our float?
Make a fun, colorful, and interactive float or display that will travel throughout the parade. We have many cash prizes up for grabs. Music, colorful props and scenery, fun costumes are all things you can incorporate. Judging will take place as you enter Lincoln Square from Baltimore St.

All parade divisions assignments will be sent out shortly after October 10, our deadline for parade registration.
